July 6, 2009

Hey hey hey! Hows it going? Man that is so cool that the Ashby's are home! Crazy it did go by sooo fast!

We had a prett good week. We had the chance to go do some service this week! there is a sister who speaks spanish that comes teaching with us sometimes with Azucena. And she has a son who served a mission but since has fallen away from the church. And i guess one night this last week there was a storm that happened while he was at work, and lightning struck and hit one of his trees and it fell on his trailer that he pulls behind his truck and also part of it fell on his house. So we went over there and cu tit up and moved it out! I loved it! i had been wanting to do some physical labor like that! And i got to use a machette! i was just going to town, the other elders were like man he just looks so happy with that thing in his hands and just wacking away. haha it was awesome, one of the elders was like if i ever have a business with manual labor you are going to be my supervisor or you will run it, your a stinking hard worker, So i gotta thank you Mom and Dad for teaching me to work hard, because i just went to work and didnt stop the whole time till it was done, while some of the others just kinda stood around. I wanted to get it all done and make the member have a good impression of the missionaries. His Mom told us that he was so happy to have us and that he could really feel our spirit while we were helping him. I loved it service is the best.

Also we had a great day at church yesterday we had 5 Investigators! that is the most we have had since i have been here! it was great our spanish gospel principles class was packed! It was so great!

Also we got to go on splits this week again where i was the only spanish speaker again, but it helps me so much when im alone. Cause i really stretch myself and practice more.

We are probably going to baptize both Uriel and Azucena either this week or next wednesday. Im real excited for them, keep them in your prayers. they are both struggling to find answers but i know as we fast and pray for them, the lord will show them the way.

Great Scripture for yall Alma 5:38 It just goes to show that there are elect people out there! They will head to the voice of the good shepherd!

My spanish has really jumped alot this week as i try to push myself in each aspect, my grammar is getting much better as i help someone to ask how to say something all the time.

Something i have really learned is to always push myself, push myself to the limit, do all i can, the lord has lifted me up and has truly made my burdens light. I can go 110% because i know the lord will help me. Also just how prayer truly is so amazing, how prayer can change people. It can soften the hardest hearts when they get on there knees and show there gratitude to there Father in heaven. What a sign of humility, in showing where we know all blessings come from. I love every part of this work, from Weekly planning to Keeping tack of our area book, to updating or map to contacting to baptizing to every part! its all so great an dtruly the greatest opportunity. I cannot think of a greater blessing than what i have been given. I know that the Lord is providing people for us as we stay obedient and keep praying for them the lord will bless us. I have said this before i dont care if i baptize alot just as long as the one's i do STAY in the gospel and pass along the blessings that they have recieved. Its our job to warn our neighbor. Great talk by President Eyering about this. Warning oru neighbor.

But yes we will be having hopefully two baptisms very soon. Im very excited. Ill be sure to print pictures today mom. Man did you see my ripped arms in that last picture i sent home to you guys!? man talk about buff! haha jk. I bet you anything after ashley reads that last line she will be like WOWWW.... haha Well take care guys i love yall so much. Keep up the great work, stay strong. This work is beautiful. There is NO greater calling than this.

Con amor,
El Elder Riding
